History of Her Well Center
Her Well Center was born from a calling, one rooted in deep compassion, lived experience, and a desire to see God restore what trauma tried to destroy.
In 2018, as founder Candice Reyes began intentionally engaging her own healing journey, she experienced God’s restoration in a profound and personal way. As she unpacked her trauma and found freedom, she sensed God asking her to trust Him, to step into vulnerability, and to create a place where survivors could receive the same evidence-based healing and spiritual renewal she had been given at no cost to them.
At first, she resisted. Candice did not want to be defined by her trauma or known as “that girl.” She feared the visibility, vulnerability, and responsibility that such a calling required.
Then, in May 2018, just one month before her 38th birthday, everything changed. While teaching a lesson, God used her own words to confirm His purpose for her life. In that moment of surrender, Candice realized she could no longer run from what God was asking her to do. That turning point ignited the beginning of what would one day become Her Well Center.
In 2021, she launched Hooks2Crook Ministries, a discipleship ministry that produced an award-winning Bible study in multiple languages and partnered with churches to distribute Bibles and resources around the world. Yet even as the ministry expanded globally, God continued to make something clear: this was only the root of the calling.
The heart of her purpose was to walk closely with survivors and help them restore how they view intimacy since it had been broken by the harm that was caused by another individual.
In 2023, with the full support and blessing of her husband, Candice stepped out in faith, left her stable career, and opened Her Well Center. She began serving survivors wherever they were found, in hospital rooms, church pews, coffee shops, and crisis calls at midnight. What started as one-to-one outreach quickly grew into a ministry defined by presence, compassion, and advocacy.
As the need grew, so did the vision. Her Well Center expanded into a place where survivors of sexual trauma and intimate partner violence could receive evidence-based, trauma-informed care wrapped in unwavering love and Christ-centered support. Services now include advocacy, counseling, neurofeedback, support groups, case management, crisis intervention, and the development of Samaria House, a residential refuge offering safety, stabilization, and restoration for women in crisis.
From the beginning, Her Well Center has stood on one foundational truth:
Every survivor deserves a safe place to heal, find hope, and experience the restoration God offers them.
What began as one woman’s obedience has grown into a team, a community, and a sanctuary of hope for survivors across Waller, Fort Bend, Harris, Austin, and parts of Galveston Counties. Today, Her Well Center continues to grow, not by chance, but by faith, as staff, volunteers, and partners walk alongside survivors toward healing, empowerment, and transformation.
“We help Her reclaim Her hope, regain Her voice, and resist Her urge to isolate.”

About Her Well
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalms 147:3 (NIV)
If you’ve found yourself here, chances are you’ve experienced pain that no one should have to endure. Perhaps you’ve lived through the silent wounds of sexual or domestic violence, feeling trapped in a cycle of fear, confusion, and control. The truth is, love was never meant to hurt, and what you’ve been through is not your fault.
At Her Well, we understand the weight of power and control—the way it disguises itself as love while stripping away your voice, your confidence, and your freedom. But real love is different. Love is kind. Love is patient. Love is not rude, self-seeking, or easily angered. Love does not harm or keep a record of wrongs. True love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
If you’ve been caught in this battle—if someone has violated your trust, your body, or your spirit—you are not alone. Her Well is here for you. This is a place of refuge, healing, and hope. We do not judge your story. We meet you where you are, with grace, support, and the belief that healing is possible.
You are worthy of safety. You are worthy of respect. You are worthy of love.
Her Well is here to walk this journey with you—one step at a time.
Your Rights Matter to Us
At Her Well, meeting you where you are means more than offering services—it means honoring your dignity, your story, and your rights.
