Run for Hope 5K
Objectives
Did you know…, According to the RAINN (the National Sexual Assault Hotline), every 68 seconds, someone in America is sexually assaulted? Let’s look closer to home, per the UCR, a total of 2,500 sexual assaults occurred last year in Waller, Fort Bend, and Harris Counties. How can we help survivors reclaim their hope? Her Well is a 501c3 Non-profit that is dedicated to serving survivors of sexual assault in the Waller, Fort Bend, and Harris counties. We guide Survivors to reclaim their hope, regain their voice, and resist the urge to isolate.
Solutions
Run for Hope 5k invites the community to stand up for survivors during Sexual Assault Survivors Awareness Month. This event helps Her Well continue providing quality crisis intervention services to anyone who may need it without a fee. We are committed to ending sexual violence through education, counseling, medical care, and basic selfdefense courses to help more survivors reclaim their hope, regain their voice, and resist the urge to isolate.
You can join the fight.

2026 – Butterfly Run 5K
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Butterfly Run!
Whether you’re here because you know and love Her Well Center, or you simply came out to enjoy a beautiful morning and support a meaningful cause, we are so grateful you’re here.
Who We Are:
For those of you who may not be familiar with us, Her Well Center is a faith-based crisis center that advocates for survivors of sexual trauma and intimate partner violence, as well as their families, as we guide them to reclaim their hope, regain their voice, and resist isolation.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: No survivor walks alone.
We live this out by offering trauma-informed therapy, crisis support, advocacy, and spiritual care so survivors can experience hope, healing, and restoration.
In just three years, Her Well has had the honor of walking alongside more than 100 survivors on their healing journey. Seeing all of you gathered here today is a powerful reminder of how this community is rising up to say: you are not alone.
Why the Butterfly Run?
We call this event the Butterfly Run because healing is a process a transformation. At Her Well, we walk survivors through what we call The Butterfly Journey:
Caterpillar Stage – Survivors rebuild and grow, supported by case managers who check in twice a month.
Chrysalis Stage – Deep, internal healing takes place through specialized trauma therapies, including EMDR, ART, Neurofeedback, and even Equine EMDR.
Butterfly Stage – After 12 months of courageous work, survivors graduate by releasing their butterfly, symbolizing freedom and hope after trauma.
Butterfly Release
Each butterfly represents hope, healing, and freedom. If you would like to participate in this special moment, butterflies are available this morning for $15. Please join us at 7:20 a.m. for the release; it’s a beautiful way to honor a survivor, remember a loved one, or celebrate the power of transformation.
Together, let’s run with purpose, release with hope, and celebrate healing!
